The score for each problem in the ranklist has a number in parantheses under it. What does that number mean?

Looks like submission number (not for that problem alone; just the submission number over your whole contest).

Basically this is your rank for that particular problem.

For challenge type problems it appears to be a reflection of your rank on the "best solutions" page.

For normal problems it's 1 plus the number of solutions that ran faster than yours (time rounded as on BS page).
