  1. Add Perl 61.
  2. Highlight current user's line in ranks.
  3. Sort problems in ranks by name or by user's score.
  4. Display problem scores on user's page.
  5. Go to (or a link to) Best Solutions after submitting a working solution.
  6. Optional email notifications for new problems.
  7. Make it clear what bash tools and perl libraries are available.

Points 1, 4 and 6 are connected with the SPOJ engine and I don't have access to change it (I even don't know if I would be albe to).
1. If You want Perl 6 You should write it in section Wishlist: ( http://www.spoj.pl/forum/viewforum.php?f=53 ). But I have already asked about adding it, so we only have to wait. On SHORTEN all languages are available. So when new langs are added I always add them also to SHORTEN.
7. I don't know how to check it. I'm not the person who add it. Did You find any Perl library which should but wasn't available?
2, 3 - I will try to do it.
5. Not all users may want to go to Best solutions after every AC. And if You want to go there by link You can click You time and You will go to ranking of current task.

Perl is upgraded to 5.12.1, and perl 6 is added (rakudo-2010.08). In both you can use all standard labrieres.

  1. Thank you!
  2. There's username right below "Log Out". If it's hard to highlight on server, a line of client JavaScript would do.
  3. Nice undocumented feature!

New suggestion (mostly motivated by Perl 6):
8. Display language of problem's best solution (either on the problems list or ranks).

  1. I would have to check the source of the website and it's not available in C++ in standard library. Only in curl or libcurl it can be done and I'm unable to add it to SPOJ.

  2. As I said I'm only able to change ranking, so I'll ask on this forum (not subforum) and maybe someone will know how to check language in which particular submission was sent.

  1. As I said I can't add email notifiaction for new problems, but I came up with a solution - adding RSS. Hope it will be a good substitution.

This suggestion should be written in section Online judge system -> Wishlist.
I don't have such power to update it.

A small suggestion:

Can we get the IRC channel info on the main SHORTEN page, as it is on the main SPOJ page ? The IRC channel has very few active people on it, and it might be nice to get others in there to discuss the challenges.

Jander.

Also, the links page should be updated. codegolf.com has been dead for a while now,
so I think it would be better to mention codegolf.stackexchange.com and golf.shinh.org instead.

kokosek: how is the implementation of per-language ranking lists going?
I think such a feature could improve activity, not much happening here lately
(apart from the usual suspects: Jander, HWK and myself).

I'll write a temporary language rankings on my site until I will be able to make such on SHORTEN.

Links updated, thank You.

But SHORTEN doesn't have IRC channel. Would You like me to make it?

I sent You an email, hallvabo.

Actually codegolf.com is up again, but pretty unstable, and with horrible response time.

The SPOJ IRC channel (#spoj @freenode) has very little activity, so I think we should continue to use it.
Mentioning it on the SHORTEN pages would help to draw more attention.

Done.
