This discussion is way too personal, but you've touched an interesting point.
Newcomers to this forum are often taken by admins for trolls as they don't seem to know the conventions of this forum.
Remember one thing: we are simple people, like spam (junk-mail) filters. If something looks like spam, that is what it is. Similarly, if you post breaking conventions, you become a troll. Regardless of your intentions.
I've felt for some time that sooner or later someone would have to work out a set of rules to go to the FAQ. Since December the need for this has become more aparent, so here are some of them (based on the 5-6 users we've had problems with so far):
1) Sound trustworthy. A person whose identity is not verifiable is not trustworthy.
2) Do not post more questions than you need answered. Do not post questions which can be answered whithout much effort using an encyclopedia or docs. Do not ask about things that have already been answered.
3) If possible, try to contribute to the forum by giving answers, and good ones at that. Forums are based on give and take, not just take.
4) If the number of your posted questions is larger than the number of your submissions, you are probably spending more time asking for help than trying to cope yourself. This is a bad sign.
5) If a lot of experienced posters are telling you to think for a moment over the questions you are asking, please do.
6) Do not offend anyone. Do not call admins Martians, we are not.
7) Use correct punctuation. Single exclamations really do express emotions well enough!
smart_malk: please post in accordance with the rules above. Any non-constructive comments (the post I'm replying to, and the deleted post before it are perfect examples) will affirm me in the conviction that you are making fun of us and you will be banned.
